I have been married since 1987 to my wonderful wife Wendy. Remarkably, she has put up with me since then (well actually almost six years before that since it took me a long time to recognize a good thing when I had it). I grew up in Lynden, WA, a small dairy farming community near the Canadian border. Since Grandpa Cobb was the school custodian and always there to lend appropriate “guidance”, I led quiet school career. I began working for a neighboring dairy farmer when I was about 13 or 14 years old and paid my way through undergrad and graduate school by milking cows, doing farm labor, picking berries, and raising beef and poultry on the remaining acreage of the family farm. Fortunately, before I headed off for law school, I had the sense to ask Wendy to marry me. I still don’t know why she said “yes” but almost 23 years later, I’m sure glad she did. Wendy currently works as a management nurse at Shelton Health and Rehab. Wendy and I both sing with the Harstine Island Community Choir and I also sing sea shanties with The Capstans and Irish songs with the Backwoods Irish. Singing hasn’t left much time anymore for hunting and fishing but I am a life member of the Bass Anglers Sportsmen Society and a Patron Life Member of the NRA. We are members of Shelton Presbyterian Church.
